Protect

Have a pickup truck you use for work? How about a whole fleet of trucks? Either way, you most likely want to protect your investment and maintain the value of your vehicle(s). All it takes is one accidental load shift and you've got a broken back window or damaged cab. But that's not all. Without a headache rack there's little to prevent some part of that load from crashing through and seriously injuring you or a passenger. A headache rack by Spyder Industries is a good line of defense on either front.

Advertise

Why not get a return on your investment with advertising built right into your headache rack? Sure, vinyl graphics have their place and are a step up from magnetic signs on the side of your truck. Full body wraps are nice too but may be overkill. They're also expensive (upwards of $5,000 or more) and may only last a few years. A 100% custom built headache rack from Spyder Industries presents your company name, logo, phone number in a truly unique way that will set you apart from competitors.

Utilize

While a our headache racks can be used for safety and protection, as well as an advertising tool, they can be utilized in other ways. By adding optional lumber stops you can carry and secure long loads that extend over your cab - without damage. Add grab handles for easier bed side access or as additional tie-down points. Add a variety of lighting options to allow work (or play) long after the sun goes down. The possibilities are endless. And if you have a special request there's a good chance we can help.

Our series of Custom Logo Headache Racks help you to begin designing your own custom headache rack that features your company or business logo. All headache racks start with a frame that is the foundation upon which everything is built and added. The frame you should choose will depend on your needs and what's most important to you.

FAQ: Custom Logo Headache Racks

All headache racks start with a frame that is the foundation upon which everything is built and added. The choice of which of the 4 available frames you should use will depend on what's most important to you:

  • If full back window protection is most important, then start with a full coverage frame. This also maximizes the space available for your logo.

  • If you have a sliding back window and want to be able to pass cargo through the opening, then start with a windowed frame. Your logo will be featured on the left (driver side) of the rack with the option to duplicate it on the right (passenger side).

  • If you have a factory installed cargo area camera built into the third brake light and you want to keep an unobstructed camera view, then you should start with either of the frames designed for use with OEM Cargo Area Cameras. In either of these cases, the size and placement of your logo will be affected.

After placing your order, you'll receive instructions on sending the required image file that we'll use.

Our CNC designers will study your logo to determine how to best recreate it in layers of cut and powder coated steel. Then they'll render an image of your headache rack for review.

As a business owner it's assumed you own the rights to your logo. For legal reasons, we cannot use trademarked logos (other brands, sports teams, etc) that you do not own without express permission.

Logos are created entirely from layers of cut steel (no vinyl stickers used). Each layer is powder coated a different color and the layers creatively stacked and riveted to the headache rack to create the effect.

A video clip below shows an example.

Our CNC designers will try to replicate it as closely as possible in layers of cut and powder coated steel. The price includes up to 3 colors plus the standard black that is part of the rack.

In some cases, depending on the complexity of your logo, details may have to be simplified. If so, we'll let you know.

Powder coat is not a paint so there are no paint codes. Instead, the powder coat industry uses a system of RAL numbers. You may choose any of the colors we stock by Cardinal or special order (at a higher additional cost) colors from Prismatic Powders. While we can offer suggestions on powder coat colors that closely match the colors in your logo, you are ultimately responsible for the final choice and approval.

Your price includes up to 3 colors plus the standard black that is part of the rack. We've found this to be adequate, in most cases.

We cannot do color gradients in powder coat.

Of course! Our CNC designer will take your logo and determines the best way to render it in cut steel, then program that into a computer. A 'digital proof' of your custom rack with logo and all accessories will be generated and sent to you for review and approval.

Your price includes up to two design changes with follow-up proofs sent.

We need to be able to scale your logo to any size without loss of quality. For that we require a vector file.

  • Acceptable file formats include: .ai (Adobe Illustrator), .eps, a vector based .pdf, .svg, .dwg, or .dxf .

  • Raster image files are NOT acceptable. This common file type includes: .jpg, .gif, .bmp, .png, photos, scans, etc. Saving one of these in a vector format will not make it a vector file.

If you have questions or need help we suggest you contact your graphic designer or commercial printer who should be able to provide a proper file.

Sorry, we're 'artists' but not in the graphic design business. You might consider hiring a graphic designer who will have no problem providing us with the files needed.

Unless you already have or plan to use a tonneau cover, we always recommend our Heavy Duty bed rails which are also compatible with tool boxes - even if you don't plan on using a tool box.

If there is an option or feature you want that is not found here, you may contact us and request it as a special order. Extra charges will be involved.

The answer boils down to extra time, labor, materials, and technology. A CNC designer takes your logo and determines the best way to render it in cut metal, then programs that into a computer. Proofs of your custom rack with all accessories are generated for your approval. Material is setup and CNC cut. Fabricators clean up and prepare each layer, pre-fit, and drill everything for assembly later. After sandblasting, in addition to the headache rack, all layers are individually primed and powder coated. Rivets are powder coated to match. During final assembly an artisan re-fits and rivets all of the layers together. In our experience, multi-layer custom logos typically adds around $1200 to the overall cost of a headache rack.

We understand, life happens. If you cancel your order prior to the start of any CNC design, you may be entitled to a full refund.

If you cancel your order after CNC design has started and prior to fabrication, you may be entitled to a partial refund (total order minus design fees).

Once fabrication begins, there are no refunds and there are no returns on custom logo headache racks.
